Makeup Geek Contest: Effie Trinket

This week's weekly challenge was inspired by Effie Trinket, a character from The Hunger Games... I still have yet to see this movie, I want to read the books first.. But Effie is played by Elizabeth Banks and I have to give props to the makeup dept. on this movie because it looks nothing like her..  I decided to base my look on this photo.. but maybe what she would have looked like if she was in her teens..

Here's my look:

Here's what I used:

EYES

• Base- NYX JP in Strawberry Milk
• Lid- 120 palette (peony pink and thistle pink)
• Crease- Same as the lid colors
• Highlight- Ulta in Iceland
• Liner- Strawberry Milk on the lower lash line, with the 120 colors on top. on top I used Styli-Style extreme black in the tight line.
• Mascara- Volume Exact Mascara by Covergirl
• Lashes- NYX Lashes (pink and black feather lashes) now I did something rather stupid because I had no more eye lash glue.. I tried to use a regular glue stick to make them stick and it was a temp fix.. unfortunately it irritated my eyes afterwards.. so I will never try that again...
• Brows- I took a clean mascara wand and dunked on some foundation and mixed some NYX Milk on there with it to make my eye brows look lighter.

CHEEKS

• I covered my face with NYX JP in Milk 
• Blush- I used Hard Candy in Living Doll on the Temples and upper cheek area
•  I used a little sticky heart decal on the side of my eye.

LIPS

• I covered my lips with NYX JP in Milk
• I used NYX JP in Pacific to line my lips, then I used NYX in Baby Pink for the lighter parts and Wet N Wild Fantasy Lip stick in Blue Magic for the dark parts.

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lip Color and Speed Glosses: Swatches

I love these Mega Last Lip Colors!!! All of them are Matte colors and all of them are pretty in their own way.. and they actually stay on for a while.. it took me a while to get these lip swatches off my arm lol


















PinkerBell- It's a great coral pink almost a salmon
Doll House Pink- bright cool toned pink
Sugar Plum Fairy- Burgundy Purple
24 Carrot Gold- Bright orange.. almost like a MAC Morange color (this picture does nothing for the color tbh)
Red Velvet- Bright Red
Stoplight Red- Red with a slight pink tint



These Speed Glosses are great, they have a refreshing minty taste and give your pucker some sparkle and shine.

Frenzied- Really unique gold/carmel/peach color
Untamed- Bright pink

Christina Aguilera: The Voice Live Show

 This stunning is look is from The Voice's first Live show, and Christina Aguilera is just killing it!! EYES

• Base- NYX JP in Black Bean all over the lid, I took my smudger brush and smudged up to the crease
• Lid- I used Archetype Minerals in The Black Dahlia (Black w/ Purple Sparkles) applied it wet.
• Crease- Smoked out crease with The Black Dahlia (dry)
• Highlight- Urban Decay Naked Palette in Virgin
• Liner- Lined top line with Black Bean and then bottom lash line with Black Bean and smudged it out then applied The Black Dahlia over it and Sally Girl Baked shadow (purple) on the inner part of the lower lash line. Then I used Styli-Style liner in Extreme Black in the water line
• Mascara- Maybelline in Lots of Lashes

CHEEKS

• Foundation- True Match + Femme Couture Get Radiant
• Blush- Flirt! Heart Throb
• Bronze- Physician's Formula Light- Med

Christina Aguilera: The Voice Results Show!

Christina Aguilera is looking flawless this season on The Voice, her look from the first elimination round was gorgeous!!  California Barbie goddess!! I'm so glad she got a new stylist and is taking care of herself.. Her clothes and her hair were a million times better compared to the season premiere.. okay enough about my makeup crush on Christina.. Jake Bailey is doing great things for her.

 Here's my look:

* You may wonder why I always have pictures in my car... well it's simple I get really great lighting in my car that my camera doesn't give me in my house.. so I normally take pics either in my car or behind a window.. just my lighting preference lol*


Here's what I used:

EYES

• Base- Styli-Style line and seal waterproof liner in Extreme Black, I took the liner and lined the eyes and then I used a smudge brush and smudged it out into the crease area
• Lid + Crease- I used Ulta in Brass all over the lid and crease
• Highlight- Urban Decay Naked Palette in Virgin
• Liner- Besides using Extreme Black on the top lash line, I used it on the lower lash line and waterline and smudged it out the same as the top and used Brass and a little of Wet N Wild Comfort Palette (dark brown)
•  Mascara- Maybelline Lots of Lashes

CHEEKS

• Foundation- True Match + Femme Couture Get Radiant
• Bronze- Physician's Formula Light- Med
• Blush- I used a Rouge Blush Palette, I got from my school QC Makeup Academy, and It was a peachy/bronze color.

LIPS

• Wet N Wild in Dark Pink Frost
• Femme Couture Lip Luster in Vixen

Easter Look: Malted Eggs

Hope that everyone had a happy Easter!! When deciding what I was going to do this year, I thought about what kinds of candy I would usually get in my Easter basket when I was younger, of course I would get Jelly Beans and Marshmallow Peeps, which I did a look based off Marshmallow Peeps last year.. I thought about my love/hate relationship with Malted Milk Balls and how I would get them but I never really liked them but yet I would still eat them..  They were always bright colored with speckled with different colors and have always been big Easter memory for me.

• Base- NYX JP in Strawberry Milk
• Lid- 120 Palette (pink to match the pink in the picture)
• Crease- Lid Pop Neon (yellow) then I used Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette in (dark brown)
• Highlight- 120 palette (matte white) with Archetype Minerals in Soap Bubbles in the inner corner.
• Liner- On the lower lash line I used Comfort Zone Brown and Ulta Brass, then I used Jordana Bliss in the water line.
• Mascara- Maybelline Lots of Lashes

My Little Pony:Rainbow Berry

Last week's My Little Pony look was inspired by Rainbow Berry, with Easter coming up I wanted a very fun, bright colored look for work, and yes I did wear this to work and I work in a courthouse.. lol  I can pretty much wear what I want makeup wise, but I try not to use a lot of dark colors and heavy liner.

EYES

• Base- NYX JP in Purple
• Lid- 120 palette (1st light purple color)
• Crease-120 palette (bright pink) and (matte red) in the outer crease
• Highlight- Ulta in Iceland with Archetype Minerals in Verre De Sol in the inner corner.
• Liner- On top I used LA Splash glitter liner in Purple Heart, on the lower lash line I used Jordana in Bliss and NYX JP in Baby Blue, then I used 120 palette (light scrambled blue) then I used Claires glitter (bright blue) on top, with NYX JP in Cucumber in the water line
• Mascara- Maybelline Lots of Lashes

• Blush- Physician's Formula Happy Mood Boosting Blush in Rose

MAC Iris Apfel: Scarlett Ibis

The last color in the Iris Apfel collection is Scarlett Ibis, and it's actually a pretty color of Bright Red with a hint of Orange.  I paired this bright lip with a smokey eye, love these classic looks.

• Lid- Instead of Silver Gull, I used The Color Workshop set with light silver
• Crease- Instead of Diamond Dove I used Wet N Wild in Silent Treatment (Crease color)
• Liner- On top and bottom I used Jordana in Lavish Brown and
• Highlight- Ulta in Iceland
• Mascara- Maybelline Lots of Lashes

• Instead of Scarlett Ibis, I used a mix of NYX Femme and Eros
