Dupes: Lorac I Love Brunch Palette

So Pastel palettes seem to be all the rage right now, with the Kat Von D Pastel Goth palette and then Lorac comes out with The I Love Brunch palette and while yes pastels for Spring isn't anything new but when I saw that this was coming out I was interested in at least swatching it because the pastels where pretty and the bright aqua shade was really speaking to me.. however looking at the setup of this palette it reminded me of another palette that I did purchase last year, the Sephora + Pantone Modern Watercolors palette.  You look at these two together they have the same shades..  so no I didn't need to purchase this palette.  I actually swatched it while I was working and I have some pictures to share with you guys..

Ok me being ghostly pale, the pigmentation sucks on these shadows, there is maybe 4 or 5 shades that are workable but that's not enough for me to purchase a $44 palette. If you want to purchase this you will need to use a white base to make the colors pop and really build up the colors.. I still had to do this with my Sephora Modern Watercolors palette..

Also I tried a new mascara from Butter London and I hate it.. it's called Iconoclast and it makes my lashes so clumpy (you will see in the closeup)

Something new I tried and I like is the new Bare It All foundation from PUR and I quite like it. It's thicker but it really gives off a nice natural, skin look. It doesn't look cakey and I applied it with a Artis dupe brush that PUR came out with and I like it more than my Moda brush.

PB and Honey Palette

After months of seeing this palette being teased on Instagram, I knew I needed it in my life. I was lucky because I used a 20% off coupon plus I had $11 dollars in Ulta rewards so I bought it as soon as it was released to platinum members. Then I anticipated it's arrival to my home and when it finally came I opened the box and the packaging was so adorable. I opened up the palette and all the colors were so pretty and eye catching.. and then I swatched it...  Where is the pigment Too Faced? Why aren't the colors showing up on my ghostly pale skin? One of the colors Creamed Honey is my exact skin tone, so actually that color works great for an all over base but the rest of the colors were so disappointing! I had to wet my brush and keep layering the Going Nuts shade..What happened? Why aren't these better quality like the other 9 pan palettes because all of the other ones I have are fantastic. I think after this I'm taking a break from Too Faced shadow palettes...

I Need a Play By Play

I have been just loving the Colourpop pressed eye shadows and in the second batch of new colors they came out with a lot of cool green shades. Checkmate is a matte seafoam green shade that is just so unique and Sideline is this really awesome duo chrome shade that is green with a purple/burgundy shift. Play by Play is another duo chrome but this one is more of a peach color with a green shift. I also used a color called Team Captain which is another matte shadow but it's a deep forest green shade.

I also purchased one of the new Creme formula lipsticks, I find these to be one of their best formulas of lippie stix because they are so comfortable and creamy and just sit really nice on the lips. Sure Thing is also a really lovely nude shade.

SAG Awards 2017: Emily Blunt

I don't think I have talked about the new California Dreaming palette from Lorac yet... but it's actually pretty great. I really need to do some swatches.. I just never have time.. lol

I wanted to do a look inspired by Emily Blunt's rose gold look from the Screen Actors Guild Awards, it just look really fresh for Spring, and it was a work day so I got to try out some of our new products.
We had a sale on Bliss Color products so I picked up the Bliss Staycation Foundation and I don't know how I feel about it yet, it has a really beautiful finish and lasts a long time but I think it may have broken me out, I will to try it out again because I really do love Bliss products.

Another new edition to the California Dreaming Eye Palette is the Cheek palette which I think the colors are gorgeous, which a light hand I could wear the highlighter, the bronzer/highlight shade is a little too dark for my skin tone so I will probably use it for an eye shadow. The two blush shades are also really pretty.

Grammy's 2017: Adele

Adele was queen of the Grammy's this year. Which would be no surprise to anyone. She slayed with Hello all year round and continues to make just really great music. I really loved Adele's look and wanted to create something similar. I pulled out an old friend for this one, the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette and a new product which I think is one of my favorite products at the moment and it comes from Flower Beauty. Flower Beauty is Drew Barrymore's makeup line, you can purchase Flower Beauty products at Walmart. The product I was so blown away with is her Face Palette in Light.  It consists of a Bronzer, Blush and Highlight and the highlight it so breathtaking, it's so smooth and buttery almost like a cream product, there's no glitter just a really beautiful sheen.

I also mixed a new lip shade called Bare Necessities from the fairly new Colourpop X Alexis Ren collection with an OG lip shade called Vice which is also and Ultra Matte lippie but way too light on it's own.

I Pinky Promise Love Muffin

Colourpop recently, the week before Valentine's Day, came out with a Valentine's Day Collection. I think besides the 90's collection a couple falls ago, it might be one of my favorite collections. They came out with a quad of super shock shadows, a ton of new pressed powders, a mini lippie set, a pigment and single super shock shadow and a highlighter.

For Valentine's day week I really wanted to rock some pretty pink looks and these items really took me there.. I also incorporated my Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts palette, which was only appropriate..  and the Colourpop highlighter Tough Love is the perfect pink, where its more of a champagne pink, just gorgeous! I also used the shades in the One of A Kind Duo Set- Pinky Promise which is a stunning wine shade in a metallic finish and Going Steady which is a deep wine shade in a matte finish. They really compliment each other nicely.

For the lips I used one of the Ultra Satin lips from the Short and Sweet mini collection called Love Muffin which is a lighter pink shade and I topped it off with Sugar Lips a glossy lip shade with a lot of multicolored glitters but not chunky or gritty on the lips.

Lady Gaga: Super Bowl Look

Now you know I had to do a look inspired by Lady Gaga at the Superbowl... and a month later here it is!! haha

I was rooting for the Falcon's this year because it would have been cool to see someone who is not Tom Brady win.. but as the fates would have it the Patriots dominated the field. I'm not a huge fan of football in general although my family are avid Lions fans, which I will never understand why.. I was more excited to see the half time show because you really never know what to expect with Lady Gaga and what her performances entail... I actually really liked her performance medley of hits and she really danced her booty off, but more importantly than all of that her makeup was impeccable. Her makeup artist Sarah Tanno really did an amazing job with her overall look. It made her look like such a star and she looked stunning!! Luckily Sarah shared with us the beauty breakdown on Instagram and she used all Nars products, I only had one of the products she used and it was only because it was a Sephora birthday gift last year.. otherwise my interpretation is pretty affordable.

I used mostly Colourpop pressed shadows which are fairly new to my collection and I have to say I really enjoy the formula of their shadows, very pigmented. NYX also came out with new pigments and while I was over at Ulta I had to try them out, you know for.. science. I picked up two shades, Froyo which I used in the look today it's a really lovely lavender/pink frosty shade and then another called Vegas Baby which I haven't used but it looks like a golden silver glitter bomb in the best way possible!

I also tried out a new primer, which I had gotten as a Sephora sample, the Smashbox Pore Minimizing primer (the purple one) and I'm kinda impressed with how well it filled in my pores.

Holy Trolls!

You guys I am so obsessed with the new Trolls eye shadow palette by PUR!  When I first saw the release for this I was a little underwhelmed and thought it wasn't something I would have been into because the Cinderella palette wasn't terrible but I am not a huge fan of the PUR shadows in the Selfie palettes but this one is pretty impressive, I'd say the pigmentation rivals the Anastasia Beverly Hill shadows, dare I say that! This palette is so much fun because while it's more of a normal palette it has these beautiful pops of color. Poppy is an intense shade of pink that I adore, DJ Suki is a bright orange, Guy Diamond is this beautiful duo chrome shade... I seriously need to do swatches on this palette..

Lorac came out with 6 new satin lip sticks in really cute names, still very fitting with the "alter-ego" branding. I actually bought two of the six shades in Snow Bunny and Granny and oh my goodness these lip sticks are so creamy and moisturizing and I find they actually stay on for quite sometime.

Side note, well maybe not, because it's about Trolls still but I just recently saw the Trolls movie and it is so freaking adorable I can't even handle it! It's funny and random and I'm all about it!
