SAG Awards 2018: Brie Larson

Today's look was inspired by Brie Larson's makeup from this years Screen Actors Guild Awards... yes I should have done this look months ago. Brie Larson was one of my favorite looks from the SAG awards this year. Her makeup artist Rachel Goodwin gave her this really cool navy and icy blue look. She used all Nars products, which I actually had one of them but in the powder form... Nars Orgasm which is a cult favorite.. I think I got this as a point perk cause it's the deluxe size but still very pretty.

With this look I got to use some of the new Colourpop pressed shadows from the Festival Collection Backstage, which is a matte cobalt blue and Bassline, which is an icy periwinkle blue shade. I really like how this look turned out.

Here's the look:

Hi Suppose..

It doesn't seem like Colourpop is going to slow their roll anytime soon.. they just cranked out a Festival collection and now they will be collabing with MakeupShayla.. which I will more than likely be picking up because I just saw the swatches literally two seconds ago and they are gorgeous!

Yesterday's look was very springy, because I live in MI and while I enjoy Winter.. it's still cold and snowing/hailing here at the end of April. I just want to see Spring!

Still really enjoying the Festival palette from BH Cosmetics but I incorporated some super shock shadows from the Pretty Fly set. Up in the Air, which is this dark aubergine satin color and Soul-cialize which is really bright pink lavender shade which is an ultra-glitter and it really popped against the dark shade.

On my lips I used Ultra Satin in Hi Suppose. This color is so pretty!! It is a bright Magenta shade and it just makes a statement.

No Sleep Till Brooklyn

 NO. SLEEP. TILL BROOKLYN

Every time I wear this lippie I always think of that song..

I just recently got the new BH Cosmetics Festival palette in the mail and it's the closest I will ever get to Coachella let's be real.. but this palette has really blown me away so far! The colors are so bright and fun and you get a great mix of mattes and shimmers.

Another palette that really complements that palette is the Pur X Boxycharm collab which I get during the Easter sale on the Pur website.

A product I bought strictly on impulse and they had 20% of the website so I thought well I've been eyeing this for a while because it's so pretty.. the Smashbox Cali Contour palette and I am really liking how it looks on my porcelain complexion.

Grammys 2018: Lady Gaga

So the Grammy's were in February and it's the middle of April... I definitely dropped the ball on this look.  Lady Gaga was an absolute stand out for me in terms of makeup and hair. Her performance was just gorgeous and she sang like an angel.

Her makeup artist Sarah Tanno, make this bold show stopping look with winged liner and oh all the glitter and her hair was in a braid but it was so cool how it looked like a corset almost intertwined with ribbon.

Sarah did post a breakdown on her instagram, which I love when big time makeup artist do that and because she is with Marc Jacobs, they were all Marc Jacobs products.. which I only had one of, the highliner in Blaquer which I got for my birthday one year from Sephora and I had a sampler of the foundation she used but it was way too dark for me and I used the coconut primer.

Here's the look:

Easter 2018

We are rolling into April already!! What is this?  I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter holiday. Travis and I went to Hilltop Brewery for dinner, they have the best soft pretzels on planet earth, and then we went and saw Ready Player One. I didn't have very high expectations going into the film but I ended up really liking it. The concept was different and it was just a lot of fun and makes you think about what the future will be like..

I wanted to go bright and bold with my Easter look, I recently just went very blonde so I wanted to play up different eye looks. This look I used two new colors from the Colourpop Spring collection Frog and Daddy.  Frog is a really cool sparkling pink shade but it has all these rainbow glitters through it. Daddy is a matte bright purple which I used a liner

I also brought out my My Little Pony palette from Colourpop because it just screams Springtime

Critic's Choice Awards: Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie has been an absolute queen this whole awards season.. I have yet to see I, Tonya but I bet it's amazing..  Pati Dubroff, her makeup artist has been turning out all these amazing looks and I'm gonna have to recreate most of them here on my blog because I'm just so obsessed with her work.

This look is a simple monochromatic look, but that's so on trend right now and I loved the winged liner. It all just looked very clean. While I don't have any Chanel in my makeup collection.. I wish! I had to do the best I could and honestly this look can be achieved with drug store makeup as well.

Also really hard for me to settle on the right nude shade so I mixed two of them together and it gave me the right tone that I wanted.

I Fell Back In Love With Modern Renaissance

February has come and gone and now we are already into April.. what?  I would say a staple in my makeup collection is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. Forever and Always. I think I hit pan on this palette more than any of my others (with the exception of the Naked Palette) This was my go to palette in February and I used it with this look as well because it paired so nicely with this Colourpop Super Shock Shadow in Chromoscope, which is this beautiful rich burgundy shade with tons of gold glitters.

I also don't know if I talked about these other two products yet but one is a pretty great drugstore mascara and the other is an awesome highlight also from the drugstore... gotta love the drugstore!

The first was the L'O'real Super Star Fiber Mascara, which is in the purple tube, I had seen Tati raving over this mascara and not to be confused with the original Superstar Mascara... which I totally bought thinking they were the same thing.. actually they are both pretty good mascaras. I like that the mascara primer is black instead of white.. it just makes more sense to me..

Second is the new Wet N Wild loose highlighter in Moon Tears from their Goth O Graphic collection, which I have yet to really play with but this highlight has been a favorite of mine.. it's just so pretty!

Here's my look:

Here's what I used:

Cosmic Charge Of Blue Glitters!

I am a huge fan of Colourpop's lippie stix but when they released their new Lux lipsticks,  I was really excited to purchase these.  First of all these feel expensive and they have a beautiful rose gold packaging and the cute little stars imprinted on the lipstick itself.  I used Pinkie's Up in today look, it's a stunning nude but more of a rose toned nude and the formula is so creamy.

I have been really into watching Glam Masters so I had to pull out my ABH X Mario Palette and I also have been playing with the fairly new (they came out around New Years) Ultra Glitters. Cosmic Charge was the star of the show today, a really nice taupe but it's littered with blue glitters. Gives a really fun surprise to the look.

I also got a sample of the Smashbox Primerizer in my Sephora Play Box, I think this is fantastic!

To give the look a little more pop of color I used Colourpop Gel Creme liner in Prance.

Here's the look:

  • Liner- On the lower lash line I used Lula and Claudia and ABH Moonchild Palette in Blue Ice in the inner corner and ColourPop liner in Prance on the waterline.

Golden Globes: Emma Stone

I have been MIA since the end of the year.. I usually don't get sick often (maybe 2-3 times a year) and I got the bug for about 3 weeks, luckily not the flu but congestion and a stupid lingering cough so I tried to stay away from contaminated my makeup... I also just got a new puppy named Freddie Prinze, right now he is 4 months old and he is a Brusston (Brussels Griffon/Boston Terrier mix) and he is still just a baby but a ball full of energy! Still in that fun puppy biting stage..

The first look of the year, that I wanted to post, was this look funny enough... I loved Emma Stone's makeup at the Golden Globes. The purple lip is not something you regularly see on a red carpet and Rachel Goodwin pulled it off perfectly. I looked at the beauty breakdown of this look and tried my hardest to find a dupe for NARS Dominique in my collection and Molly from Colourpop was the closest but it was a little too pink, so I mixed a darker base with Molly and I really like how it turned out.

I did this look on the night of the Oscars, which also brought some amazing beauty looks that I'd still like to recreate. I think I might do a post dedicated to my favorite dressed celebs during this awards season because there were a lot of favorites, it's going to make best dressed of the year very difficult for me.
