MAC Bloody Brilliant: Kelly Osbourne Look

I had mentioned in an earlier post that I was going to do a look based off the MAC X Osbournes Collection and I did a look based off Kelly's Bloody Brilliant Quad. The quad itself consists of 4 colors:  Spoonful of Sugar, Tickety Boo, Fizzy Rose and Shadowy Lady. It's a very purple-lilac color scheme. I also tried to find a dupe of Dodgey Girl, which I did not have NYX Castle was the closest and then I used a blush on top of my lips to get that bright purple color.

Above photo is not mine ^^^^^

Here's my look:

Here's what I used:

EYES
  • Base- Cargo HD Picture Perfect Primer
  • Lid- Instead of using Fizzy Rose, I used my blush from Sigma's Creme De Couture Collection called Blackberry Essence. Then I used my dupe for Shadowy Lady, Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow in Doe-a- Deer on the outer portion of the lid.
  • Crease- Urban Decay Naked 3 palette in Nooner is a great dupe for Tickety Boo and then I used my Shadowy Lady Dupe in the outer corner
  • Highlight- I used Vice Ltd Edition Palette in Laced, and in the inner corner I used Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow in Tassel, for my Spoonful of Sugar dupe.
  • Liner- On the top line instead of using Rapid Black Penultimate Liner I used Be A Bombshell liner in Onyx and in the waterline I used Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Perversion, instead of Smolder and then I used Nooner and Doe-a-deer on the lower lash line.
  • Mascara- L'oreal Manga Black Angel Mascara
CHEEKS
  • Primer- Lorac Mattifying Primer
  • Concealer- Cargo One Base 01
  • Bronzer- Lorac Tantalizer Baked Bronzer
  • Blush- I used Hard Candy Baked Blush in Living Doll, instead of Cheeky Bugger
LIPS
  • I used NYX Castle and then I used my Blackberry Essence Blush on top, to make that purple color really pop

Reese Witherspoon: SAG Awards Look

The Screen Actors Guild Awards were on Sunday night and I have to say that they were kinda boring, I'm happy for all of the winners that won because they mostly deserved it but I wish that Reese would have gotten her award for Wild. It was an amazing movie and she really did an awesome job.  She also looked stunning and I absolutely loved her makeup and hair. So I thought in spirit of awards season I would do her look from the SAGS. This look was really great and it really gives a warmth to her face and it's also perfect for winter and in the transitioning to spring with all the berry tones.

Kristen Stewart "Still Alice" Movie Premiere Look

I am the first one to admit that I am not a huge Kristen Stewart fan, although I have seen all of the Twilight movies, she just doesn't do anything for me. Nothing against her but just not my personal preference for actresses. I will say that there have been moments were I commend her for stepping out of the box  style-wise and this was one of those moments. I was watching Fashion Police a couple weeks ago and they had showed Kristen Stewart from the Still Alice premiere in LA and she had this really cool bright blue makeup look that was a smokey cat eye. This bold rocker look was so eye-catching, I just had to put my own spin on it.

Agent Carter 1940's Inspired Look

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge fan of TV and I always give the new TV shows a chance. One of the highly anticipated shows of the year for me was Agent Carter. For those of you who don't know the premise of the show, Agent Carter is the story of Peggy Carter (Captain America's Girlfriend) she works in an office for the Strategic Scientific Reserve while also assisting Howard Stark (Iron Man's dad) where he is being framed for supplying weapons to the wrong people. Agent Carter is set to find the culprits and destroy the weapons with Stark's butler Edwin Jarvis. Hayley Atwell plays Agent Peggy Carter and she's kinda a bad ass, she almost reminds me of Alias, if it was set in the 1940's.

As for the look I went for the traditional 40's look with the focus on the heavy brows and red lip. Everything is very matte so I used my Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Palette and for my brows I filled them in with my Brow Extender II by Divaderme and it's a really cool product because it's not a pencil and it's not a shadow! it's mini fibers that look like hairs and they work really well and look natural.

Jennifer Lopez: American Idol Auditions Nashville

It's that time of the year again when American Idol graces our television screens with it's presence, I haven't been keeping up with it much unfortunately but I watched the first two episodes the other day of the auditions in Nashville. I have to say I still really love the combination of judges (Jen,Keith and Harry) and I feel that they give really good advice, especially Harry. I also like the new addition of showing the final 24 in advanced because they all blend really well together and I'm very excited to watch. Another really great thing is seeing all the amazing J.lo looks during the season and I loved ther cut crease look that she had wearing that flowered dress. It was a bit challenging for me to match up the eyes because one of my eyelid sis slightly smaller than the other which really drives me crazy but it is what makes me me so always embrace your imperfections.

2015 Golden Globes: My Best Dressed

The Golden Globes were on Last Sunday and they were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Pohler two very funny ladies. I have to say I have not seen a lot of the movies that were nominated, with the exception of Wild. I was however very happy for Gina Rodriguez winning for Jane The Virgin!!! If you haven't seen it, it's adorable!

The fashion this year was kinda underwhelming for me but there were a handful on stand outs for me...

  • Greer Grammer in Lorena Sabru- As Miss Golden Globe Greer stood out in this gorgeous princess gown
  • Anna Kendrick in Monique Lhuillier- something so pretty and springy about this gown and just they way her makeup was done, she had such a glow about her.
  • Kate Beckinsale in Elie Saab- She never disappoints me on the Red Carpet always looks so classy and always on point.
  • Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad- Love!! But I have to say I was so scared for her at times because of things possibly popping out of her dress lol. But she looks like a goddess and this was my favorite look of the night.

  • Emma Stone in Lanvin- The thing I love about Emma is she is always so cool and effortless and this look was so cool and different and it all worked.
  • Lupita Nyongo in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture- Another dress that made my jaw drop I love the color and I love her makeup she is so stunning!
  • Amy Adams in Versace- Love the color even though the dress was safe, she looks like old hollywood and I love it!

5 Years.. really?

Today marks 5 years for my little blog, I can't believe how fast time has flown. When I started this thing I was just about the enter cosmetology school and I had barely scratched the surface of my makeup talents. Now I'm licensed in Hair and Makeup, have done some free lance for a handful of weddings, just finished up at QC Makeup Academy about to get my certificate and now I am a beauty advisor at Kohl's.. the next adventure will be enrolling into a Special FX course with QC! I just want to learn as much as I can and have always wanted to do Special FX makeup and very excited!

I thought about what I was going to do for my look today and I was looking back at my first real tutorial for Carrie Underwood's music video for "Just a Dream" and then I thought how fun would it be to recreate the look. I have to say I wasn't as skilled as I am now and I kinda cringe when I look at the old posts haha!

This look was inspired by Reese Witherspoon's look at the Inherent Vice premiere and I just love the smokey eye she was sporting because it played up pinks and burgundy's so it wasn't like the traditional smokey eye. The star of this look is my Naked 3 Palette, you can achieve this look by using just that palette if you wanted to but I also wanted to play with my Colour Pop shadow :)

Katy Perry "This Is How We Do" Music Video Look

This is a look I have been wanting to for a while, I actually have done this look before but I never got the photographic evidence so here we are again, sometimes these looks are second attempts because I'm not happy with the end result.. I'm kinda a perfectionist in that way I guess..

Getting back to the video, I really love this song, I am really impressed with the Prism album as a whole actually.. but this video is just pure fun. I know Katy has been getting a lot of flack for the video but honestly I think some people just need to let it go, it's a video and there have been way more offensive things in other music videos that no one even talks about..  The look that I have for you today is the layer of liners I like to call it..because it's 4 different lines, it's the look during the ping pong scenes with the black, pink, white and grey lid and a bright pink lip.

Bang Bang is another one of those songs that is everywhere and I actually just watched the video for the very first time yesterday and I really liked Ariana's makeup, it was kinda hard to make out during the verse part of the song, but it became a lot clearer once they were up on the helicopter pad. It was a fun purple/lilac eye with a fun purple lip and I used mostly my Urban Decay Electric palette which is one of my absolute favorites to use just because of all the great bright colors.

Meghan Trainor "All About That Bass" Music Video Look

Let's face it, the song "All About That Bass" is everywhere!! I don't mind Meghan Trainor and I hope she sticks around for a while because all of her releases have been fun, catchy and kinda an old school throwback sound. This song is very catchy and has a great message, that you don't have to look a certain way in order to be accepted in society as beautiful and you should be able to feel beautiful in your own skin and really owning it. The video is a candy coated treat, I say that because the whole atmosphere, clothes and her makeup reminds me of pastel cotton candy wonderfulness..  The look I did today is based off the part where she is wearing the teal dress with the yellow jacket, she has a really nice teal color on her lower lash line with a dark teal in the waterline paired with a fun pink bubblegum lip.
