Friday Island Paradise..

Today I wanted to just do a rainbow look.. I went to the dentist today and I'm still numb so I just have an eye look today... The colors are from this color palette:
It's L.A. Colors Palette in Lush.

Here's the look:



EYES

• Base- I used NYX jumbo pencil in Milk all over the lid and brow bone
• Lid-Inner I used the Yellow, the middle the Purple, and outer Blue
• Crease-Inner- Yellow, Middle-Purple and I used an orange color from Ulta in Knit
• Highlight- White
• Lower lashline- Teal on the outer/middle and White on the inner
• Liner-Top- LA Splash liquid eyeliner in Kryptonite and then place Archetype mineral makeup in La Bella Donna over it and the lower lashline
• Mascara- Rimmel Eye Magnifier Exact Definition

Mac Face Chart: All's Good

This was my look today for work. All's Good from the MAC All Ages,All Races,All Sexes Collection and here it is:


Here's all I used:
EYES

• Base- Wet N Wild creme eye shadow in Pixie
• Eye Lid-On the inner and outer corners, they have the pigment Rich Life. I don't have a pigment of that exact type but they described it as a blue-brown pigment so I used Xibalba by Archetype Cosmetics it's a brownish taupe color with silver and blue sparkles
• Crease- Mac uses Banshee shadow which I duped with a color from my Day To Play Palette from Pop! Beauty (6th shadow on the right side of the palette (silver palette)) and then instead of Show Stopper in the outer crease, I used a mixture of Gray and a taupe brown from the Day To Play Palette
• Highlight- Instead of using Universal Mix pigment, I used a silver gold color from my Claire's eye shadow palette (48 colors in a square formation....maybe I'll swatch them later!)
• Liner- Sephora Midnight Black liner on the top lash and on the bottom lash line I swept a matte caramel color from the Day To Play Palette (maybe I'll swatch this one too..) and then line the bottom with Sephora Midnight Black liner
• Mascara- Colossal Volume by Maybelinne.. (yellow tube)

CHEEKS

• Neutrogena soft color blush in Sweet Raisin, instead of All's Good

LIPS

• Moisturized with lip balm
• Lip Stick-I used Wet N Wild in 516 C Sunset Peach, instead of Myself
  
• Lipgloss-N.Y.C Liquid Lip Shine in Cappuccino, as a Naked Frost alternative
  

Inspired by Temptalia: Spring look

For an easy go to look for work I usually look at my favorite websites one of them being Temptalia.com, she has some gorgeous looks and this one in particular made me want to recreate it. It's a cute look for the spring and it even matched my top I was wearing.

Now of course I didn't have the same colors that she used but I tried my hardest to dupe these and this is what I came up with....


Here's the substitutions I used:

EYES
Base- She used Soft Orche PP by Mac, instead I used Wet N Wild Creme Eyeshadow pencil in Pixie and I put that all over up to my brow.
Lid- Luckily I had Stars N Rockets which she used in her inner third and for the middle instead of Lucky Green by Mac, I found that Green Apple by Sally Girl is pretty close to that color. In the outer portion of the lid, she used Moon's Reflection and I used a blue from a Claires palette with a mixture of Ulta in MoonBeam.
Crease- Instead of using Electric Eel from Mac.. I used a shadow from Milani from the Roulette Eyes collection.. this one is called Low Bet and it's the brightest blue. Above the crease I used a gold from my Pop Beauty Day to Play Palette instead of Gorgeous Gold from Mac.
Highlight- She used Femme Fi from Mac and I used a beige color again for the DTP palette.
Inner Corner- I found this color comparable to Beautiful Iris from Mac.. It's actually from Hard Candy compact in Dillusional and it's a really pretty purple duo chrome.
Liner-She used a liquid liner from Mac but I used Pop from Taylor Made Minerals and it worked just as well once I wet it. On the lower lid, I used Jordana easyliner in Bliss and it was pratically the same color as Urban Decay Electric Liner
Mascara-Pulse Perfection

Cheeks
I used Flirt! Heartthrob blush and Golden Minx bronzing powder

Lips
Wet N Wild in 547 B Breeze
NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Sungold Pink

Idol Inspired look: Kara Dioguardi

Finally the return of American Idol!!! Last night during the Atlanta auditions, I couldn't help but admire Kara's makeup lol It was really pretty!!


It's like a black smokey eye with purple iridescence above the crease and a silver color in the inner and middle lid.

Things I used:
Eyes:
Base- Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Pots and Pans all over the lid
Eyelid- In the inner third, I used MAC Idol Eyes, probably a little more shimmery than Kara's but it's a pretty silver with a purple tint and it's 'Idol' eyes... lol
On the outer and middle part of the lid I used a shimmery black shadow from Jesse's Girl.. note to self invest in a matte black shadow..even though hers looks like a satin finish to me..
Crease- Still using the black, blending it with a Revlon Contour Shadow brush and I used an index card to make it cat-like. Above the crease I used a combination of L.A. Colors Palette in Ocean Breeze (a really pretty purple with a blue duo chrome) and L.A. Color Palette in Mesmerize (a darker purple, that I put into crease)
Highlight- MAC Vex w/ Ocean Breeze Palette (the white) on top
Liner- NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean on top lid and waterline (sephora midnight black liner)
Mascara- Maybelline Pulse Perfection

Face
Foundation-Dream Matte Mousse in Porcelain
Cheeks- Ulta cheek color in Afterglow

Lips
Wet N Wild lip stick in 547 B Breeze
NYC Liquid Lip Shine in Pink Sands

"Just A Dream" Carrie Underwood tutorial

Flipping through the channels today I saw the music video "Just A Dream" by Carrie Underwood and I wanted to try and re-create it. Such a sad song and video but her makeup looks gorgeous!

It's better seen on the Music Video but it's got a pink-ish gray look. Cat eye liner and a soft peach lip.

Ughh! so ignore my hair, it looks really nasty in the pic but I wanted to pull it off my face lol It will look better in the next tutorial I promise!

Things I used:
Base- Ulta Base and Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Strawberry Milk with a little bit of cream shadow light pink that I purchased at the dollar store from Indulge in Beauty.
Eye lid- Hard Candy eye shadow quartet in Dillusional (the pink color) mixed with Ulta shadow in Sweet
Crease- I used my Day to Play palette from Pop Beauty (it's like a grayish-purple color) that I got at Ulta
Liner- She has a cat eye so I used Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean and used a angled liner brush and thickened the line and winged it out and then I put the black under the lower lashline and smeared it out towards the middle and put a a beige matte shadow from my Day to Play palette on the inner lower lashline.
Waterline- Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk and on top I used a white shadow from L.A. Colors palette in Ammunition (the 1st color)
Mascara- Top- Maybelline Colossal Volume and Bottom- Maybelline Pulse Perfection (my favorite!)

Face:
Foundation-Dream Matte Mousse in Porcelain
Blush- Flirt! Peek-A-Blush in Heart Throb
Bronzer- Flirt! Bronzing powder in Golden Minx

Lips-
Wet n Wild lipstick in 547B Breeze
NYC Liqiud Lip Shine in Pink Sands

Mom's Birthday

Last night was my mom's b-day and she is in the Red Hat Society. She finally turned the big 5-0 this year ( which she's been counting down till forever for) so now she can wear red and purple now instead of pink and lavender. Her theme for the party was 50's so she wanted me to recreate a 50's look on her face using Red and Purple.. she isn't the easiest person to put makeup on because she has hooded eyelids.. but nevertheless I tried to make it look the best I could..
With her permission I could post a pic w/o makeup which is a rarity lol


I did a purple eyeshadow on the lid and then I did a thick black cat eye and accented it with NYX Cherry jumbo pencil on the ends of the black liner. She wanted it over the top with a bright red lip which turned out more pink than red. She actually let me line her lower lashline which never happens lol

My look for the night was based loosely on the Mac Face Chart Miss Ross:



Eyeshadow substitutions:
Base- Ulta cream base
Eye lid- I used a few different shadows. I first used L.A. Colors palette in Lollipop the 2nd and 5th colors instead of using endless love and on top of that I used Ulta shadow in Sweet instead of using Up-Do
Crease- Instead of Soulsong I used Sally Girl eyeshadow Hi Life (cranberry color) and MAC Beauty Marked
Highlight- I actually bought Vex a few weeks back so I just used that
Liner- Instead of Icon Eyes I used Rimmel sparkle liner (it's been sharpened down to nothing so I don't know the name but it's the purple on and put some beauty marked on the lower lash line. I also used Wet N Wild liquid liner to give myself a cat eye adn added Sephora black liner to my waterline
On my cheeks I used Flirt! Peek-A-Blush in Crazy In Love
Lips-I used a wet n wild color
