Demi Lovato "Sorry Not Sorry" Music Video Look

I feel like the theme of my blog lately is doing music video looks, and I'm really not mad at that... there has been some really great video looks this year. This look was inspired by Demi Lovato and her look for Sorry, Not Sorry. The only reason I wanted to do this look was because of her poppin highlight and Jill Powell never disappoints. She had posted a list of all the products she used for the video and I tried my best to get as close as I could.

One new product I got to use was the new Dose of Colors The Girls palette, which is a collab with Desi and Katy. I love them and really admire their work and this palette did not disappoint. I will be wearing this palette on New Years Eve for sure.

Taylor Swift "Look What You Made Me Do" Music Video

I probably wasn't the only person obsessed with Taylor Swift's new video for "Look What You Made Me Do" because it was something that Taylor has really never done before and the music video had so many easter eggs and hidden meanings, it was just so clever. She has a plethora of different makeup and hair looks, I planned on doing like 4 of them but the look that really stuck out in my mind was the dark smokey burgundy eye with a dark bold berry lip. It was so stunning and so perfect for fall!

I tried the new Fenty foundation for the first time while doing this look and while at first it has a beautiful finish and great coverage, I'm sad that this might be too drying for my skin but if I mix it with more of a hydrating foundation it's a little more tolerable and less powder. What's nice about it is that you don't have to use a lot of product and you definitely don't have to set your face because it dries down. a few things to note is that it dries down face so you need to work in sections and when it dries down it turns a shade darker, so make sure when you are swatching at the store that you wait until it completely dries down.

Rihanna "Wild Thoughts" Music Video Look

Sadly no Fenty Beauty products were used during this makeup look..  actually I did this look the day of the launch and I couldn't run out to my Sephora..

I did purchase a highlighter of hers online but I was so afraid to pick out a foundation shade online, so the next day I ran out to my nearest Sephora and did some swatching and I'm glad that I did because I would have gotten the wrong shade if I would have guessed on it.

I used mainly most of the Colourpop Summer pressed shadows because they were absolutely perfect for this look.

Britney Spears "Pretty Girls" Music Video Look

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love Britney Spears... She is my girl and a lot of people don't really care for her new single "Pretty Girls" feat. Iggy Azalea and I gotta say at first it was just kinda meh for me, but then I kept playing it and over time this song was definitely a grower. I guess I really love the 90's vibe of the song, it makes me so nostalgic because I grew up in the 90's, so I really have a soft spot for things reminiscent of the 90's lol    Then they released the music video, which is a reference to the movie Earth Girls are Easy so it's kinda a cheesy video but Britney looked flawless and it's pretty fun and don't get me started on her dance sequence which was everything.  Her makeup was very bronze and smokey with a peach lip which was pretty simple but really nice for Summer.

5 Years.. really?

Today marks 5 years for my little blog, I can't believe how fast time has flown. When I started this thing I was just about the enter cosmetology school and I had barely scratched the surface of my makeup talents. Now I'm licensed in Hair and Makeup, have done some free lance for a handful of weddings, just finished up at QC Makeup Academy about to get my certificate and now I am a beauty advisor at Kohl's.. the next adventure will be enrolling into a Special FX course with QC! I just want to learn as much as I can and have always wanted to do Special FX makeup and very excited!

I thought about what I was going to do for my look today and I was looking back at my first real tutorial for Carrie Underwood's music video for "Just a Dream" and then I thought how fun would it be to recreate the look. I have to say I wasn't as skilled as I am now and I kinda cringe when I look at the old posts haha!

Bang Bang is another one of those songs that is everywhere and I actually just watched the video for the very first time yesterday and I really liked Ariana's makeup, it was kinda hard to make out during the verse part of the song, but it became a lot clearer once they were up on the helicopter pad. It was a fun purple/lilac eye with a fun purple lip and I used mostly my Urban Decay Electric palette which is one of my absolute favorites to use just because of all the great bright colors.

Yesterday's look was inspired by Brit's video for Work B**ch, which by the way is just fabulous in itself.. she looks great and dances like she used to and I have to admit I have been trying to nail the choreography for a few weeks now. (I'm getting good!!)  This look isn't really anything spectacular but I wanted to an inspired look from her, it's just a smokey grey eye with a nude lip.

Britney Spears "Scream and Shout" Music Video Look

This look was inspired by Britney Spears and Will.I.Am's music video for Scream and Shout. Britney's look was very futuristic alien and I just loved it! Instead of putting the crease color in the outer area, Brit put the focus more on the inner corner.

Britney Spears "Crazy" Music Video Look

After doing a Christina Aguilera look I decided to do a look based on another pop princess, Britney Spears. Now I have done many looks from Britney, because she is awesome :) This look in particular is from vintage Britney from her music video "Crazy"  a video which I absolutely loved at the time and still do... I remember staying up late one night memorizing the dance break in the video with my best friend. Even dressed like her for Halloween curly hair and all.

You will notice that I did something new with my hair, I decided to fall into the ombre trend, but instead of doing dark on top and blonde on the bottom (which is what my hair looked like while my highlights were growing out... and I couldn't stand) I decided to go with the Reversed Ombre, that way I can keep my Blonde hair on top and Blonde on the bottom...
